EU AI Act Compliance Statement
Wathiqa is designed and operated in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act). This page documents our compliance approach, risk classification, and user rights under the regulation.
01Overview
The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) establishes a harmonized legal framework for the development and use of artificial intelligence systems within the European Union. As a provider of AI-powered services accessible to EU users, Wathiqa (operated by Somatic Wellness Consulting FZC) is committed to full compliance with applicable provisions of the regulation.
This document outlines our classification of the Wathiqa AI system, our compliance measures, and the rights available to users and affected parties.
02Risk Classification
Wathiqa operates a Limited Risk AI system under the EU AI Act classification framework. Our assessment:
- Wathiqa does not make autonomous decisions about employment, credit, legal status, or essential services
- Generated policies are informational documents reviewed and approved by the user before deployment — no automated decision-making applies to individuals
- The platform does not use biometric identification, real-time surveillance, or social scoring
- AI is used for document generation and recommendation support, with all final decisions remaining with the human user
We continuously monitor our use case against the Act's Annex III high-risk categories and will update this assessment if our scope expands.
03Transparency Obligations
Under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, we disclose to all users:
- That policy documents are generated by an AI system
- That generated outputs are templates and recommendations, not legally certified documents
- That users should review generated policies with qualified legal counsel for their specific jurisdiction
- Which AI models and processing systems are involved in generation (described as "AI-powered" in all client-facing materials)
We do not use generative AI to create synthetic personas, fake legal authority, or misleading content about the nature of the generated documents.
04Human Oversight
Wathiqa is explicitly designed with human oversight at every stage:
- Users review and approve all generated content before export or implementation
- AI customization suggestions are presented as options — users accept or reject each one individually
- Expert Review services involve qualified human practitioners reviewing AI output before it is finalized
- No generated policy is automatically deployed or enacted — deployment is always a deliberate human decision
05Data Governance
Our data governance practices in relation to the AI system:
- Training data for AI models used in Wathiqa does not include personal data from platform users
- Organizational profile data used to personalize recommendations is processed under our Privacy Policy and GDPR compliance framework
- We do not use generated policy outputs as training data without explicit user consent
- Data minimization principles are applied throughout the generation pipeline
06Accuracy, Robustness, and Testing
We take accuracy seriously given the regulatory context of the policies we generate:
- All policy templates are developed and validated by qualified gender equality practitioners and legal reviewers before being included in the generation system
- Templates are reviewed against current legal frameworks in primary markets
- AI customization outputs are compared against validated base templates before being presented to users
- We maintain a quality review process for user-reported errors in generated content
We acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions. Users are advised to verify legal accuracy with qualified counsel before formal adoption of any generated policy.
07User Rights Under the EU AI Act
EU users interacting with Wathiqa's AI system have the following rights:
- Right to be informed — You have the right to know you are interacting with an AI system. This is disclosed throughout the platform.
- Right to explanation — You can request an explanation of how a policy recommendation was generated. Contact us at wathiqaapp@gmail.com.
- Right to contest — If you believe an AI-generated output contains errors that affect you, you may contest it and request human review.
- Right to opt out — You can request that your organization's data not be used to improve AI recommendations from your Settings page.
